Course Offerings

Beal Performing Arts offers a wide selection of courses in Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre, including enriched programming in select grades. The Open courses are entry-level courses with no experience required and the University/College courses (M course codes) require a prerequisite.

Whether you want to pursue the Performing Arts following high school or simply find joy doing them, our pathways allow you to earn both your Art and Group 2 compulsory credits, as well as develop transferrable skills for for life.

Dance

You can enter the Dance pathway in either grade 9 or grade 10 at the Open level.

The Grade 10 Performance Practice course is intended for students with extensive previous dance training.

Dramatic Arts

You can enter the Drama pathway in either grade 9 or 10 level at the Open level. Grade 11 Open (ADA 3O) is intended for senior students with no previous experience in dramatic arts and is not a prerequisite for the Grade 12 Dramatic Arts courses.

Beal Musical Theatre (BMT)

Students who select the Beal Musical Theatre (BMT) program in myBlueprint will be required to complete an application form, audition and interview to be considered for admission. The entire program involves 3 credits in grade 11 and 3 credits in grade 12. Major large-scale musical productions will occur on an annual basis.

Program Prerequisite: Students must complete Grade 9 or 10 credits in either Vocal Music, Drama, or Dance in addition to a successful audition.
