Beal Musical Theatre
A three-credit, two-year program; the first of its kind in Thames Valley!
A unique program in TVDSB, Beal Musical Theatre allows students the opportunity to gain experience in a full-scale musical theatre production while earning 6 credits. These focused courses are offered at the Grade 11 and 12 University/College level.
Students from Beal’s Musical Theatre program have appeared on TV shows such as Over the Rainbow, Winging It, Degrassi and Saving Hope; in films like Stage Fright and on professional stages in North America such as the Stratford Festival, Mirvish, Drayton, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Stage West and Oh Canada, Eh! Many Beal Musical Theatre students have performed internationally.

Grade 10 Dance
Performance Practice
This course is tailored to grade 9 and grade 10 students with extensive previous dance experience.
This course emphasizes the development of choreography and all aspects of productions. Students will acquire increasingly difficult technical skills as well as learn repertoire pieces.
Students will take on the roles found in a professional dance company and perform as such at various times throughout the year.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Extra & Co-curricular
Enrichment Opportunities
Beal Dance
Dance Enrichment is an extra-curricular opportunity for advanced dancers. Upon a successful audition, dancers work with professional and pre-professional choreographers to produce pieces performed in the dance shows and other special events.

Beal Drama
Beal Drama students are offered enrichment opportunities such as field trips, master classes, extra-curricular shows, and workshops by visiting guest artists.

Grand Theatre High School Project and Cooperative Education
H.B. Beal Secondary School’s Cooperative Education Program has partnered with the Grand Theatre High School Project to provide an exceptional opportunity for students to receive education and training in the working environment of a professional theatre, while receiving two grade 11 Co-op credits.
Students are given the chance to train in performance, stage management, props, wardrobe, scenic art, orchestra, sound, lighting, marketing, and more.
